The Portuguese Air Force needed to train 31 helicopter pilots in maritime rescue, with a programme that would run from 2024 to 2029. Six years of specialised training that includes basic, advanced and twin-turbine helicopters, state-of-the-art simulators and instructors with real experience in rescue operations.
The successful bidder was a Spanish company with a very specific profile: technical knowledge, its own fleet and the capacity to operate in a military and regulated environment. Exactly the type of contract where guarantees cannot have any margin of error.
When the State is the client, the documentary requirements are exhaustive. The guarantee has to be perfectly structured, adapted to the Portuguese legal framework and issued with the formality that a military institution demands.
We managed it in 2024. The training programme started. And over the coming years, every pilot who takes off on a rescue mission will have gone through a programme that started, among other things, with a well-made guarantee.
