19,000 new homes in Madrid. The neighbourhood starts with the guarantees.
Los Ahijones is not a neighbourhood. Not yet. But it will be, and on a large scale.
The project involves the comprehensive urban development of one of the last great developments in south-east Madrid: earthworks, supply and sewerage networks, gas, electricity, telecommunications, roads, pavements, bike lanes and green areas. Everything a neighbourhood needs to work, built from scratch.
The final result will be approximately 19,000 homes, more than half of them social housing. A real commitment to access to housing in a city that needs it. And on the horizon, a future Metro Line 9 station and more than 60 kilometres of bike lane.
For all that to be possible, someone has to guarantee to Madrid City Council that the urban development works will be carried out correctly. That is our part of the project.
The first 3,000 homes are already under construction. The neighbourhood is being born. And the guarantees that made it possible, we managed them.
